Looking to dive in the Cenotes of Mexico
In October 2017 I packed all my stuff in boxes, left Germany behind and went on a trip around the world for nine with my husband Markus. We got a Round-the-World ticket from Star Alliance and traveled all continents - it was the experience of a lifetime!
Swimming in Ik Kil, Yucatan, Mexico. There are so many beautiful cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. These were sometimes used by the ancient Maya civilization for sacrificial offerings. The term derives from a word used by the low-land Yucatec Maya—ts'onot—to refer to any location with accessible groundwater.
I went glamping in Tulum, Mexico and I loved that every tent there had a unique design. And there was a swimming pool with a Flamingo!!!
A cenote is a natural pit, or sinkhole, resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath.
