Solo Backpacking Thailand for 4 weeks!
5 years ago I had a dream. A dream to travel the world and experience places like a wanderer and not just a tourist. Last year I took a step towards that dream and booked a ticket to Thailand. This was my first solo backpacking trip and it was 4 weeks long. At first I was really nervous about it and wasn't sure if this kind of travel was for me. Getting through the first day was difficult since I did the tours alone. I came back to my hostel feeling low and depressed. Then something happened. I decided to not just stay in my dorm and went to the lobby. There I met a few other solo travellers who had been travelling for over 4-5 weeks through South-East Asia. Their stories inspired me and they were all so welcoming and friendly. 30 of us went out to celebrate a girl's birthday in the streets of Khao San which is the best place to stay in if you're backpacking in Bangkok. I had the time of my life. I made friends and we decided to travel together. From there on, it was so easy to make friends and travel buddies who I tagged along with without having any future plans. Spontaneity during travel is the best kind of adventure. I loved backpacking solo and I would do it again and again and again and forever.
