Is it just me or is the Earth revolving way faster than usual? Asking because I turned 32 a few days ago 😂⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ At 30, I felt weird about leaving my twenties behind and entering the thirties club. At 31, I felt excited for the way I felt grounded about my life choices. But at 32, I feel… conflicted. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ On one hand, I think I should feel quite content with where I’m now. I’m lucky to have so many opportunities to witness nature’s spectacular beauty in many corners of the world. I’ve had the privilege to build a life where I can (mostly) live on my own terms. And I know that in the bigger picture, we are nothing but talking monkeys going round and round on a spaceship! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But on the other hand, I feel like I should be more ambitious now than ever. Write a lot more about sustainable travel and living. Advocate unstoppably for veganism – for billions of animals are suffering even as I type this. Perhaps use everything I’ve learnt over the years to work with local communities on the ground. Or spend a lot more time exploring India, Iran, Central Asia, the Middle East, Central America and the Far East – because with climate change and overtourism, the world is changing way too fast. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Any words of wisdom for this 32-year-old? DAMN, I FEEL SO OLD TYPING THAT. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Also curious, what age are you now and how do you feel? ⁣ ⁣ 📷: A stellar night sky in the Kaluts desert in Iran 😍

3. Neelima Vallangi (@neelimav)

“If people can’t imagine what climate change does, then they will do nothing about it,” says Vallangi. Absolutely thrilled to see this feature on @mongabayindia, a reputed environmental publication for the uninitiated. It was in January 2019 that I wrote my first story on Climate Change. It’s January 2020 and my thoughts on Climate Change are being written about(some more are in the pipeline😊). Many thanks to @kcmouli for the lovely feature that accurately decodes what we’re trying to achieve through the documentary along with some expert commentary on the challenges of climate change communication. . . . . — “How does climate change affect our daily lives? Why and how should we adapt to these changes? Answers to these questions could be daunting, but those are the conversations Neelima Vallangi and Deej Phillips want to spark through their documentary film, temporarily titled Demystifying Climate Crisis Through Human Stories. “The documentary specifically shows the human cost of climate change,” explains Vallangi, an Indian writer-photographer and the brains behind scripting and directing the film. In 2019, overwhelmed by the disastrous consequences of climate change in India and across the world, Vallangi started a series of conversations on the crisis on Instagram where she has over 45,000 followers. After sharing information on topics such as greenhouse gases, the fossil fuel industry, and climate justice and interacting with her followers, she realised that many don’t necessarily understand how a warming planet could affect them personally.” — What a ridiculously exhausting but fulfilling journey it has been! Given that climate crisis is not going to leave us anytime soon, I foresee the journey will continue on and take me places I’ve never imagined. And a big thanks to all of you for being such an important part of this journey!🙌🏽 Article link in bio, comments & stories.

Missing Indonesia today, and already plotting how I can return to explore more of this beautiful country this year 😍 What's that one country you keep wanting to go back to? Indonesia is mine for multiple reasons- Affordable to fly to, visa on arrival for Indians, great accommodation options on a budget, the ocean, mountains, volcanoes, paddy fields, some of the friendliest locals in the world, yumm food, strong culture and history to dig into, a wonderful community of locals and expats and only like 17000 + islands to explore. It was also the first country I backpacked around as a solo traveler, where I got my Open Water certification, got stung by jellyfish (🙈) and after so many adventures and misadventures after a second visit last year, it has firmly placed itself deep in my heart. 💙 . . 📸 @meinbhiphotographer

I had been waiting to go to Munsyari since almost a year and a half or more. Basically ever since @themountaingirltales told me about it. And mostly due to insufficient funds between renting a place in Mcleodganj, bit of travelling around in Himachal and surviving on whatever I had left after buying a camera this year— somehow it never worked out. Yes, I earn way too little and no it's not uncomfortable for me to admit that. I gave up my place on rent this March and started traveling/living off a backpack from one house to the other. Mostly between Mcleod and Spiti for work projects. Thank god, I know people who don't mind my company. Now I have ended up saving enough for the year so it's all good. When Munsyari came to mind again this October, I just decided to hop on a bus and go. It takes 2.5 days to get there from Delhi—the bus/shared cab journeys are intense. But I'm used to them now so I can't crib. What took me by surprise though, was the beauty that Munsyari is. It was everything I expected and honestly, a bit more. People of Munsyari were surprised to find out that I came here alone but those were the same people who helped me find a place to stay, suggested all the cheap and good Bhojanalays and even helped me get a new SIM card because I had no network and no Aadhar Card to buy one. Then all I did was hike all day long for 5 days straight, visit a tribal museum, a temple and sit at Khailya Top and wonder when the Himalayan Vultures would show up :') ❤️ . . P.C.
