This place is of mythological importance and has attracted historians from all over. The legend goes like this that the Banasur ka Kila was built in the memory Banasur. Banasur was said to possess a thousand arms and the son of Bali. King Bali was slaughtered by Lord Krishna, according to Indian mythologies.

This medieval aged fort is located at a distance of 7kms from Lolaghat of the Champawat district. This fort offers some magnificent views of the Himalayan mountain range. It is easy to access traveling spot with the bus stand of Lohaghat at a 7kms of distance. The entry is free and takes about 2 hrs to explore. Hiring local taxies from the Tanakpur railway station or the Pantnagar airport is also a good option for travelers looking forward to, save some time.

Pancheshwar Mahadev Temple

A shrine for the Hindu devotees, the Pancheshwar Mahadev temple is built amidst the absolute serene beauty of the Himalayan range. It is the site where the two mountain rivers Kali and Sharda, have met with each other. This place attracts the Hindu pilgrims all year round and is excellent for spiritualistic explorers.
