If you are looking to relive the lives of the characters you have grown up with then Disney World is a treat that is on everyone’s bucket list. For all the movie buffs who have laughed along with Jack Sparrow, head to Disney resorts tropical-themed staycation destination, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
Everything You Need to Know Before Staying At Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
The magic of Disney is unmatchable, and once you take a step into this Caribbean mix of sprawling resort islands, you will be convinced once again that dreams do come true.
Caribbean themed resort with five village zones
The sprawling land of Disney’s Caribbean resort divides itself into five zones, each capturing the essence of Caribbean island countries – Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados, Martinique and Aruba. The colour splash of bright yellows and oranges takes you on a ride through the tropical islands. The lush greenery, red-bricked domes along with the breezy atmosphere, takes you on a paradisic journey.
Scenic connectivity to the Disney Park rides
Disney Caribbean Resort is well connected to all the rides and other resorts in the Disney world through buses. However, the timing of the buses may be off and catching one on the right time becomes a hassle. We suggest you take the Skyliner Gondola. Disney’s Skyliner Gondolas provide you with a bird view of the Disney Hollywood Studios and the Epcot. Furthermore, these aerial gondolas come with magnetic themes. While walking through the Caribbean resort is great for unwinding, you could take these gondolas if you want to understand the tropical oasis better.
White sand beach
When in the Caribbeans, how could you miss out on the beach? Caribbean beach resort is one of the best beach resorts in Orlando. Not just any beach but one that will take you to the ones with glistening white sands of Caribbean Cay Island. The bright rays of the sun make the sand sparkle silver. It is perfect for a lazy evening as the sun sets in the background, and the sky gets more picturesque.
Moreover, they have even laid beach chairs that you can lounge on while listening to the rustle of leaves. Mind you though, this isn’t a real beach, but a recreation so don’t expect waves to crash down. Nevertheless, you can enjoy an old-style family campfire with marshmallows and sausages!
Old Port Royale
Shopping, meals and all the amenities you require during your stay at the island-inspired resort, Old Port Royale serves as the port of entry. If you want your ship to start its sail, then here is where you should be. The port serves as the entry point for check-ins, check-outs as well as concierge services. Explore the Centertown Market or the Calypso Trading centre. You can find the quirkiest of knick-knacks to take back home as souvenirs. Or you could explore the ideal outfits to compliment your island-vacation. Further on, Old Port Royale houses restaurants and bars to fill your gastronomic desires as well.
Pirate themed Rooms
The cottages and rooms are an experience in themselves. The vibrant colours and the light sound of waves crashing are all you need to complete your stay. The speciality of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is their pirate-themed rooms. The wooden ship-shaped beds and the dimly lit lanterns are enough to ignite your imagination of being transported into a pirate ship. You could choose to take the ones facing the lake or the woodlands for an eerie ambience. Don’t forget to discover all those hidden treasures that the place hides! However, they also have standard rooms with queen size bedspreads and well-lit housing.
Fortified pool with waterslides
One of our favourite venue to head to at Disney’s Caribbean resort are the pools. The feature pool of Fuentes Del Morro at Old Port Royale is the grandest of the lot. Surrounded by Spanish colonial style fortress, the dive into the pool is a surreal experience. You can splash into the pool by zipping along any one of the two waterslides.
Furthermore, you can even shoot water at your pirate enemies using the spray from man-of-war cannons. The Crow’s Nest and the barrel of laughs dispensing gallons of water complete the fantasy pool. The Caribbean Resort also features five pools across the five Caribbean island villages.
Distinctive food variety
The port of entry, Old Port Royale lets you leisurely enjoy feasts as well as eats on the grab. Looking for a Caribbean style jerk meat and steak? Then Sebastian’s Bistro is your go-to. Serving salads, burgers, steaks and seafood, the restaurant gives a tropical vibe to relax to. Centertown Market, on the other hand, recreates authentic street style eating while relaxing to the island breeze.
Moreover, Centertown Market even serves snacks and bites from bakery items and biscuits to sandwiches and coffee. If you are looking to chug down some tropical liquor, then Banana Cabana, a poolside bar, is your place to be. In addition to all of this, Disney also provides you with late-night pizza delivery service to your room.
A visit to Barefoot Bay
During your stay, the most calming of the visit is a tour of the Barefoot Bay which is a 45 acres long lake. The lake provides for a tranquil early morning freshness or to lounge about for a late evening scene. The path to Barefoot Bay connects to all the rooms across the resort. There is also a wooden path that covers the perimeter of the lake and a viewpoint to watch the sun goes down. Kids can even go about treasure hunting and solving the mysteries hidden in the bay.
The best of the island feel is when you catch your own food. You can opt for the guided excursions provided at the Caribbean Resort and go on a fishing ride. You can pick the best of fishes and grill them on fire as the sun goes down. The fishing ride takes you along Caribbean Cay Island.
Indulge in outdoor activities and more
The options to explore at this Caribbean paradise are endless. From boating and volleyball to bike rentals and jogging trails, Disney’s Caribbean Island provides something for everyone. There is also a playground with water play and a pirate adventure cruise for your little ones. To top it off, you can gather around the fresh green lawns with your blanket and watch your favourite Disney movies under the stars.
